CMAT Preparation is not a Troublesome Matter: Lamichhane

Nirman Sanchar, Kathmandu(Pradeep Lamichhane is an energetic, vibrant, and highly motivated Instructor, lawyer and writer in the arena of English Literature and Language Teaching. As a political analyst and literary critic as well, he has published many college level books and articles in newspapers.

Renowned as a technically dexterous English Instructor involved in various programs and courses of Loksewa, Mr. Lamichhane has recently published his CMAT Entrance Preparation Book 2018, an authentic preparation book as he claims it.
Since 2012, he has been involved in the act of guiding and instructing students in the program of CMAT preparation. In such a context, we got chance to meet him at a CMAT preparation center in Kathmandu and have a brief conversation about his recently published book).

Why do you publish books?

I love to write and express my ideas in a coherent way so that many learners could follow me and learn something comfortably.

Mostly, I publish books after having extensive research and inquiry upon subject matter and its specific areas.
And I can assure that such books will definitely guide students properly towards the right track of having better results.

Is it enjoyable to be a writer for academic courses?

Different from literary writer, academic writing demands every writer to be sincere, honest, and responsible toawrds students and well informed about subject matter.

Unlike literature writing, in academic writing knowledge and its presentation comes on the front line. Such books require leaving behind a long series of struggle to get both space and respect in the market.
Recently you have come up with edited version of CMAT book. Can you introduce us something about CMAT?

CMAT is a broadly accepted and practiced form of entrance test to the students who want to join various programs at Bachelor level under management stream. In Nepal, CMAT is known as Central Management Admission Test.

The students who want to enrol for BBA, BIM, BTTM, BHM, MBA and other management related courses have to compulsorily attend CMAT to get enrolled at various programs in different universities including Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University and Purbanchal University.
Is such an entrance test necessary?

Of course! Only qualified and eligible candidates are selected for such courses through CMAT. For BBA and other programs, Tribhuvan University conducts CMAT entrance exam every year in the month of Bhadra, sometimes even before the publication of Grade 12 result.

The interested students have to prepare well to get enrolment at the best colleges where they are likely to get scholarship and other facilities as well. Moreover, in Nepal, Kathmandu University conducts KUUMAT test.
It is reported that you are a veteran English instructor involved in renowned colleges and even for Loksewa and CMAT programs. Can you provide some genuine suggestions to the students to get better results in CMAT test?

CMAT entrance exam comprises a test broadly divided into four different sections: verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning and general awareness. It means students have to prove their skill and talents in the area of English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness as all these four sections equally contain 25 questions, each question for one mark.
It sounds well. Can tell us major features of your lately published book? And in what ways it would be a best buy?

This book is a complete resource for the students to practice and get familiar with CMAT old questions. While preparing this book, I have gathered all the previous questions from CMAT entrance tests of both BBA and BBS.

Having good research and inquiry upon the question pattern, practice tests and models sets have been placed with maximum number of possible exam-oriented questions. It is the seventh edition.

I hope this book will definitely guide the students to answer the questions more accurately and appropriately with full confidence. I have also used knowledge and skill of many other experts as well.

My sole purpose here is to make students all capable, confident and feel comfort to attend to test and score good marks.

I have been inspired to publish this book annually as I have been loved and thanked by a large number of students for my sincere attempt to address their need.

The book is primarily divided into some sections: exercise tests, model sets, practice tests and old questions collection.

I felt sorry knowing that still today many students are far from getting the authentic book to help them rightly.
It has been heard in the market that you claim your book as an Authentic Preparation Book? Why is it so?

In this book, I have collected and compiled CMAT questions from the year 2002 to 2017. Similarly, all the questions have been rightly dealt with while identifying the best and right option among the other confusing answer options.

I have worked hard to research upon question pattern and to figure out exam-oriented questions at a large number.

This book is a result of hard labour put on this seventh edition from the year 2012 and so many students have already set up their career going through this book.

It sounds ridiculous for me to praise my work and effort myself. However, I want it to be judged in the market among the teachers and students who are directly involved in CMAT teaching and learning.
Can you provide any sure Mantra to the aspiring students?

Sure. Why not! It is always best for the students to go through and practice old questions (from 2002 to 2017).

I suggest to them getting admitted only at the best institutes for preparation classes and to follow model questions and syllabus rightly.

It is always best to locate and identify the question patterns based on previously asked questions.
